Structure of this page
This page should as much as possible piggyback off of existing pages on the wiki. Ideally it contains very little actual information itself. Instead, it should act as a guide for where to start and where and how to find answers on the wiki or elsewhere. It should create context for the wiki for those who need it, not encompass the wiki nor be a summary of it.
The page right now is more-or-less a rewrite of what's already in controls. This is the wrong approach for two reasons. Firstly, it's redundant, which is always a problem. Secondly, and more importantly: Not every beginner will need help figuring out the basic controls. There can be many other questions such a player has ("How do I pick a character?", "When do I start 'actually' playing the game?", "What should I practice first?", "How should I practice?", "How do I beat X character?", "What's a good general approach for learning matchups?"), and if they have to read 3 pages of text that's useless (to them) first to find the answers, they won't bother.
Basically, any time you might think to write something in this page, consider first if what you write couldn't fit somewhere else in the wiki. If it can, write that page, then link to it in the tutorial with some added context. (You could go too far with this if you end up writing a bunch of new pages that are only 1 or 2 paragraphs long, so good judgment is essential.)
For example, all the questions about practice or training could easily go in training mode and be pointed to from here. Such a page is perfectly capable of answering both the why and the how. RogerDodger (talk) 06:55, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
