Lars' Dynamic Entry(DEN) from the f+3 input can be canceled into a sidestep, which functions as a normal sidestep which includes the movement and attack cancels that can be done from one. Inputting f+3 then u or d gives the sidestep after DEN with a generous buffer window, after which you can immediately act from. It happens at around frame 10-11, thought it isn't of much use from a frame perspective. Moves that transition into DEN like f+1,2,3 or ff+4,2 cannot be sidestep cancelled, so they are still unsafe if you transition form those moves to DEN on a blocking opponent.

What it can be used for is baiting moves from long distances, closing in safely with an unpunishable-on-reaction dash and conditioning opponents with it's followups, knowing you can cancel the stance at will. You can also use it in form of a crouch cancel, repeatedly cancelling DEN into sidestep to that same move to close distance very quickly, much more than running towards the opponent. It also serves are as a pressure tool when the opponent respects your plus frames or your options on knockdown situations, while moving them with you towards a wall to an eventual mix.

This tech is quite hard to perform optimally, as Mishimas' wavedash usually is, but the difference is that performing it incorrectly could be severely harming you; Misinputs can lead to doing u/uf+3, a -26 on block launcher that is basically free damage for the opponent, if you try to sidestep cancel up. Should you sidestep down, it can result on d+3, a -3 on hit low, or df+3, a -7 on block mid, with these misinputs making an aware opponent to take their turn on your pressure. An attempt to DEN cancel to backdash too quickly can result on doing DEN.B, doing DEN with backstepping motion, but this time you can't cancel it and leaves you open against aggressive opponents. It isn't as bad as doing a move that leaves you on minus frames, but it leaves you in an unpredictable situation since the nature of it is odd.

As a mixup character, Lars can further improve his offense with DEN cancel on opponents willing to block your stance followups or create pressure as a wavedash-like move, creating multiple mixup windows and keeping your game unpredictable with the correct choices.
