* Simple inputs and easily understood gameplan
* '''Ease Of Use''': Azucena is very friendly to newcomers of Tekken due to her simplistic game plan.
* Strong and versatile standing punishment (e.g., 1,2, df+1,4, f+1+2)
* '''Strong Stance Mixups''': Libertador is very powerful, easy to understand and is equipped for all situations. From it's hard hitting hellsweep (LIB.d+4,4) and launcher (LIB.1+2), to it’s fast, safe heat engager (LIB.2) and power crush (LIB.3+4) there's nothing this stance can't handle.
* '''Amazing Standing Punishment''': Arguably the best in the game, strong 10F punisher (1,2) that wall splats, backturn options (df+1,4,B or 1,2,B) and an easy punisher for moves like Deathfist (f+1+2), there's nothing that she cannot punish.
* Has a high, power crush Heat engager (f+1+2)
* '''Endless Wallsplats''': Azucena benefits not only from her amazing i10 punisher at the wall but so do countless of her other moves. her 2 high powecrushes are both safe and cause a wall splat (f1+2, and LIB.3+4) and her best heat engagers are all safe on block and cause a wall splat as well (f4,4, f1+2, LIB.2). On top of that LIB.2 is guaranteed after hitting BT.3 on CH. if that wasn't enough her whiff punishers and her wr3,2 are amazing wall splat options as well. You will have a hard time finding a move that doesn't cause a wall splat for Azu.

* Weak pokes and pressure tools
* '''Weak Crouching Punishment''': Her go-to punisher is her ws4,1 at 11F’s and her ws2 at 15F’s. Her other while standing options are better applied with her offense.
* Sub-par crouching punishment
* '''Risky Whiff Punishment''': A lot of her go-to whiff punishers are duckable, which can lead to Azucena being badly punished herself if misused.
* Whiff punishment is fairly committal
* '''Lack of Suffocating Offense''': As of Patch 1.04, Azucena's key pressure tools are now worse on hit (2,1) and on block (wr3,2). This makes Azucena more reliant on slower options (b+3) or her stance entries (f,F+3+4 on block or df+1,4,B on hit) for plus frames.
* '''Linear''': In addition to having fewer plus frames, her key poking tools have had their tracking either reduced (df+1,4) or completely removed (2,1). These changes enable the Defender to sidewalk Azucena's previously relentless offense even after being hit.
Azucena, the Peruvian coffee queen, is a simple, stance-oriented mixup character who thrives off of entering her Libertador (LIB) and Backturned (BT) stances to bully her opponents. Both stances have a diverse set of mixup options, frame traps and pressure tools that allow Azucena to cash out her stance entries in a variety of ways. She can also toy with her opponent using the stances' auto parries and built-in movement options to dance circles around them.
Heat makes it much easier for Azucena to enter stance and enforce her mixups, and also makes her stance game deadlier.
Azucena has sub-par neutral, with weak pokes and pressure tools, and can struggle to setup her stance mixups. She must rely on conditioning her opponent with string extension threats or outplaying the opponent to earn respect. She must also layer her mixups to avoid playing "casino Tekken".
